Laser Hair Removal
Treatment For:
Unwanted hair
How It Works:
Laser hair removal is a treatment that uses light energy with a specific wavelength to target and damage hair follicles. The heat from the light, absorbed by the pigment in the hair, disrupts the follicles, inhibiting or delaying future hair growth.
Ame Whole Health Spa offers Lumenis Splendor X with BLEND X technology. It combines Alexandrite and Nd:YAG wavelengths which allows our providers to customize treatment options for patients with different skin and hair type combinations. This technology uses both chilled air along with a cooled laser tip to offer a comfortable treatment while protecting the skin. Splendor X uses large spot sizes, high fluence, and rapid repetition rate for a fast and effective treatment.
Laser hair removal can be permanent, however factors such as age, hormones, and skin and hair types may affect your results. Multiple treatments are needed for optimal results. Talk with your provider about the best treatment plan for your aesthetic goals.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Avoid sun exposure and tanning (including self-tanners) for at least 4 weeks before treatment. Shave the treatment area 12–24 hours prior to your appointment. Do not wax, pluck, or use depilatory creams for 4 weeks before, as the follicle must be intact. Discontinue use of retinoids, acids, or irritating skin products in the area 3–5 days before. Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin (no lotions, deodorant, or oils on the treatment area).

Laser hair removal using the Splendor X is generally well tolerated. Some may experience a mild warmth or a snapping sensation. This technology uses both chilled air along with a cooled laser tip to offer a comfortable treatment while protecting the skin.

You may experience mild redness or swelling. This usually subsides within a few hours to a day. The treated hair may appear to grow for 1–3 weeks, then shed naturally—this is normal.

Apply cool compresses or aloe vera gel to soothe the skin if needed. Avoid sun exposure and always wear SPF 30+ on treated areas. Do not wax, pluck, or thread between treatments—shaving is okay. Avoid hot tubs, saunas, intense workouts, or hot showers for 48-72 hours. Avoid use of deodorants or harsh/fragrant products if your skin is sensitive after your treatment.
